Survey Instrument Operator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate field equipment to conduct various types of surveys

  • Complete field notes and various forms

  • Submit all data to our cloud services

Education or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED and 1 year of survey experience is preferred.

  • Ideal candidates will possess a thorough understanding of standard survey procedures and instruments.

Survey Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research of legal records

  • Preparation of cadastral, existing conditions and subdivision maps from field and office data using AutoCAD

  • Working closely and collaboration with a dynamic team of experienced professionals

  • Quality control

Education or Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years surveying experience

  • BS or AAS in Surveying preferred

  • Experience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Survey CAD Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Draw and edit AutoCAD objects, linework, and text

  • Work with plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, grading and storm drainage plans, utility plans, and standard details

  • Perform simple calculations within AutoCAD (area, length of linework, interpolation, etc.)

  • Import surveyed points into CAD drawings

  • Read and incorporate field notes for updating or creating new CAD files

  • Creation of detailed surfaces

  • Ability to maintain multiple projects and ensure their completion on time

  • Assist with the creation of project submittals

  • Coordinate with project managers and prepare field packages for crews

  • Willingness to work closely with coworkers to meet overall goal and objective of projects

Education or Experience:

  • Two-year associate’s degree in AutoCAD Drafting preferred

  • 3-5 years’ Survey experience or related field preferred

  • Experience with AutoCAD CIVIL 3D or AutoCAD w/Carlson, CAD Standards

  • Experience in drafting Topographical surveys, As-Built surveys, ALTA’s, and Boundary surveys

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel

  • Candidates should be prepared to take a CAD assessment test

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must pass a drug test

Survey Party/Crew Chief

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day to day Field Crew operations to provide field data for boundary surveys, topographical and construction stakeout surveys.

  • Oversees and trains individuals to operate total station, level, GPS and data collectors for use in the collection field of survey data.

  • Establishes and sets point on construction stakeout projects (curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, structures, etc.).

  • Conducts daily maintenance and up-keep of instruments.

  • Provides clear and concise field notes including sketches.

  • Oversees maintenance of survey equipment, supplies and vehicle.

  • Candidate must be able to work in a team environment, and also be willing to work independently on occasion.

Education or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED and at least three (3) years of field survey experience is ideal.

  • Experience with Trimble S6 Robotic Total Station TSC3 Data Collector and Trimble GPS preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain and hold a federal security clearance.

  • Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat and professional manner for various boundary, topographic, design and construction staking projects.

  • PLS/SI preferred but not required.

  • The ability to compute, process and map field data will provide the right candidate opportunity and advancement.

  • AutoCAD experience a plus.

  • A valid NC driver license and a good driving record required.

  • Must be willing to travel on occasion.
